I’m known by a variety of titles including Grandpa, Papa, the tickle monster, COO of my company, but most of the time simply as Dan. I enjoy family, nature, motorcycling, gardening, wood working, and most things energy-related. I know a little about a lot of things, a little more about some things and a lot about very few things.
I am a Mormon* and I have a deep faith in God and in the immortal nature of our souls. Contrary to the stereotype, I will never try to push my beliefs on you, but if you have questions, I will be happy to try to answer them. I am pretty familiar with the tenets of Mormonism but I must also confess that I’m not a religious scholar.
Politically, I lean toward conservative/libertarian, but I might surprise you with a very liberal perspective from time to time. Human beings are complex animals and I, for one, will resist efforts to place me in a rigid box.
And finally, I have a great respect for our freedoms including freedom of speech and freedom to worship as we please. So if your world-view is different from mine, that’s cool. I hope we can still be friends.
This blog is my opportunity to vent, share insights, and occasionally shout (metaphorically) in frustration about whatever topic happens to be top-of-mind at the time. If you find your way here, I hope to at least leave you with something worthwhile to think about.
*The term “Mormon” is a nickname for a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is derived from a book that we consider to be scripture, entitled The Book of Mormon.
